Yesterday Erika and I spent the day with Alicia and Andrew. I must be doing something right because every time the forecast calls for rain it is a beautiful sunny day. Not only was the day beautiful the clouds were big and fluffy. Our locations were awesome, three diverse spots with so many great photo opportunities. I love the old trucks, barns and wheat fields. The real find was the sunflower field in Alberta! Alicia and Andrew were tons of fun and both looked just beautiful. See for yourself….

My friend and photographer Erika and I spent a great day with Ian and Erin. These two are so beautiful and up for anything. Willing to fight off the mosquitoes, tall grasses and have some fun with the cricket players. Erin has more spunk than anyone I have met in quite a while. She is a teacher and I can only imagine how much her students love her. Some on them were even at the wedding, if that does not show admiration I don’t know what does. She loves to pose and who could blame her, no matter what she does she looks gorgeous.
I always enjoy hanging out with the guys before a wedding. Guys never seem to worry about some woman they don’t know hanging around. They just do what they would do if I was not there, laugh and tell stories of all the crazy things they have done together. Thanks, Ian and the guys for making me feel right at home! Here are a few from our day with Ian and Erin…

Jon, what a genuine guy. So sweet and a newlywed himself. His wife was in the wedding party too. They could not stop showing the love, and I could not help, but capture a few of them.

If you follow this blog you know how much I love curls. Maybe it has something to do with my husband and his fabulous curly hair! Here is J, his great smile and curls, at nap time no less.

My boys love their cousins. Whenever they are together there is constant laughter. Our annual trip to the cottage was no different. They spent two days digging holes, hatching strategies and making mud balls. Then the real fun began. Hours of sand being flung across the beach. The laughter did not stop! I have so many photos of them, they all make me smile. Reid my youngest is so funny, has so much passion for whatever he does, even if it is just a sand fight. The photo of the bonfire is just hilarious, they are at least 2 feet from the fire, but want those marsh mellows roasted so badly they just had to get in there when the fire was still too hot. So here are a few of our highlights of the sand fights, bonfires, jumping off logs and even a few poses….

Here are a few more from my recent shoot with Shelly’s fabulous family. These kids have so much energy. Who am I kidding every single kid has so much energy! When you think about it even when an adult plays a sport or keeps active it doesn’t even compare to a kid who is out all day all long. My kids have had such a great summer: biking riding, playing nerf tag non stop, swimming and even doing triathlons. They amaze me. They still complain at bedtime that they are not tired. Meanwhile I am ready to go to bed at the end of the day and I have not done half as much as them. Oh to be a kid again…
Their dad was teaching the kids how to whistle with a piece of grass it was so cute.

First of all, I know I have been neglecting the blog again. Sorry, life has been getting in the way. Visting relatives, family birthdays, beach holidays, entertaining the kids and lots of photography. I’m back and ready to post a few shoots.
First is Shelly and her beautiful family. Bright blue eyes, fabulous curls, an all around entertaining and unforgettable group! Matthew is the sweetest little guy. Last year he giggled at just about anything, this year he was on the go and would hardly stop for a moment. He is still the cutest little guy around. Don’t you agree?
Sweet Matthew in 2009 and below is the busy boy that he is in 2010!

Luke is no doubt going to be a hearbreaker. He is not only beautiful, but the strong silent type that is so mysterious.
I am finding that many people contact me and want their session on a certain date. Not just any day in June, July or August. There seems to be a a lot of special occasions going around, birthdays and anniversaries. I am always disappointed when someone contacts me and I have to turn them away because I am booked or have planned one of my many vacations. I may have to stop going on so many trips. Or maybe not! So here is Brenda, well Brenda’s kids anyway. It was Brenda’s birthday and she wanted to celebrate with photos. So we fought the bugs, long grasses and had a great time. They were so great and as you can see just beautiful!

Slowly working my way editing my last two shoots between lessons, laundry and dinner. These adorable pig tails are luring me back to the couch. That and the first sex in the city movie which is just so much better than the second! Anyway, here are a few more of three adorable kids.

Another fabulous client bought a gift certificate for Amanda’s birthday. Gina is sooo nice, easy going and has style so I just knew her friend Amanda would be the same. I was right! Her kids were told this shoot was for Daddy so without fuss and complaint they ran through the tall grasses, tossed rocks in the river and even obliged when I asked them to sit with their siblings. As a bonus they all have great eyes! I only have one child with blue eyes so whenever I get to photograph shiny, bright and blue I get excited. As soon as I got home I just had to download the photos. I couldn’t wait to see this first one! Amanda I hope you like them just as much as I do…..

I know you can’t see her face here, but I still love this photo. So careful, yet carefree!

Even though the two men in this family were dreading the idea of having their photos taken, they had a good time. We all had a good time! It was very casual and easy. The location was cool and the snow ended just in time. Thanks for all the laughs guys. This is what happens when a dog dances….
